Joel Heyard started playing drums at the age of 14. After finishing his classical percussion and drum studies in Luxembourg he studied drums at the Maastricht Conservatory with Arnould Gerritse, Ron Van Stratum and Geert Roelofs and got a bachelor diploma in jazz drums.
